4 Keys to a Killer Watch Party

This Summer we are maximizing good weather and good friends to help people find and follow Christ.

Yes our building remains closed but I’m not sure Mission has ever been this open.

To the almost 100 Watch Party hosts, you rock!! You are our “Watch Party Pioneers”. Thank you for joining me and our staff to help so many friends connect with God in a way and in a place only God anticipated.

To the thousands who have yet to host a watch party, I want to share with you 4 keys to a killer watch party.

1. Pray
Before you talk to your friends about Jesus, talk to Jesus about your friends. I’m always amazed at what prayer does when it comes to inviting my friends to church..in my driveway. Before your friends arrive, invite the Holy Spirit...He is the guest of honor.

2. Host
When you host the party, your friends will likely come. If you’ve had them over before, have them over again...just add in some “church”. I’ve been amazed at how many stories I’m hearing of folks who have never been to Mission are attending these watch parties. This fires me up…KEEP GOING!!!!

3. Eat
A watch party without food is like a bonfire without fire. Let’s do it the way Jesus did it…"The Son of Man has come eating and drinking” -Luke 7:34

One scholar puts it this way....

“In Luke’s Gospel Jesus is either going to a meal, at a meal, or coming from a meal.”

You don’t have to overdo the food, but have something. It’s one of the values of the Alpha Course. People feel so much more comfortable when they are eating so let em eat.

4. Customize
We’ve been working so hard to get weeks ahead so that we can provide you with a viewing experience tailored to who’s coming to your watch party. On Friday mornings you can choose what part of the service and what service you’d like to show. I recently heard from a few “Watch Party Pioneers” how they showed just the teaching, others how they showed only the music and the teaching. Here’s the thing, we want you to customize this to who’s coming.
